Il terreno assolutamente secco e la grande esperienza dei piloti piu' bravi ha tradito gli organizzatori, così abbiamo assisitito ad una guerra di nervi per i pretendenti al titolo. Stavolta chi ha dimostrato di avere la mente più forte è stato proprio il pilota che nella prova precedente aveva gettato via la vittoria all'ultima zona, Cabestany è stato garnde, prendendo il comando, dopo il 5 di Raga alla zona 5 del secondo giro, e tenendolo fino alla fine. La prestazione di Fuji è stato compromessa dallo stesso errore alla stessa zona nel giro precedente.
