Greeves 280cc Trials motorcycle.
From Terry Joyce:
"The new Greeves 280cc Trials bike has been a very challenging but enjoyable project to work on!
We decided to use the Greeves front end look as we wanted to keep the bike traditional looking. If a tubular section had been used then it would have look like any other modern trials bike available on the market today. The rest of the frame was then worked around the head stock. The head stock is made out of solid billet along with the footrest hangers, swinging arm,and the bottom half of the engine.
The crank cases, skeleton case where the gear selectors are and the outer covers are also made out of billet.
The barrels and head are cast at a Foundry in the Midlands where we have our Greeves air cooled engines made.
The CNC work is carried out in the UK and in Ireland.
Tallon have manufactured the hubs and sprockets.
Surflex have manufactured a special clutch
Ohlins manufacture the mono shock and Marzzochi the aluminium forks.
We are running an Oval con-rod with silver bearings and a larger small end bearing as well.
The engine was designed in house here at Greeves Motorcycles Ltd.
