07/10/18 - Still Matteo Grattarola at the final round!

Matteo Grattarola (Sembenini Montesa) completed his magical year with the victory at the last round of the Italian indoor, organized in Varallo Sesia (VC). This is the 34th in a row that honors its ninth title (eighth consecutive).

The challenge for the runner-up position was won by the Piedmontese Gianluca Tournour (Gas Gas) who started very determined and was able to keep behind even the champion halfway through the race. With Tournour scoring 14 points, Grattarola 18 tied with the other pretender to the final second place - Luca Petrella (TRS) - had in fact ended the first lap. The fabulous recovery of Grattarola (4 mistakes only) in the second loop let him overtake Tournour (16), who finishing in second place did not miss his goal equally. Disaster Petrella (33), overtaken and ousted from the podium by a regular Andrea Riva (Sherco), who finished fourth in the championship.
