06/10/19 - Matteo Grattarola Italian champion for the tenth time!

Matteo Grattarola (Sembenini Nils Redmoto Montesa) clinched his tenth Italian title, the ninth consecutive, thanks to the victory obtained in the last race held in Ceranesi, in the hinterland of Genoa, with start and paddock in the suggestive Sanctuary of Nostra Signora della Guardia and sections in the neighboring Campo Trial Pro Park.

A ninth place would have been enough for Grattarola to take home this title, because he got 11 points lead over rival Luca Petrella (Beta). who dared to beat him once this season and who even today was the toughest opponent, having preceded him at the halfway point.

Petrella, suffering from a fall in training, had missed qualifying yesterday - won by Grattarola – in order to save energy and above all not to risk falls due to speed.

Although starting first, he finished the first lap at 7 points, ahead of Grattarola, 10, and Gianluca Tournour (Gas Gas) 13. In the second loop the comeback of the champion: with an unapproachable lap at "5" he took home victory and title . Petrella (22) slipped to second place ahead of Tournour (22). Fourth but decidedly more detached Andrea Riva (TRRS).

In TR2 title for Sergio Piardi (Beta) today at the top, ahead of Manuel Copetti (TRRS) and Luca Corvi (Gas Gas). They finished in the same order in the final standings.

Matteo Grattarola campione nazionale per la decima volta!

Matteo Grattarola (Sembenini Nils Redmoto Montesa) è campione italiano per la decima volta, la nona consecutiva, grazie alla vittoria ottenuta all'ultima prova disputata a Ceranesi, nell'entroterra di Genova, con partenza e paddock nel suggestivo Santuario di Nostra Signora della Guardia e sezioni nel Campo Trial Pro Park limitrofo.

A Grattarola in realtà sarebbe bastato un nono posto, perchè si era presentato con un vantaggio di ben 11 punti sul rivale Luca Petrella (Beta). che ha osato batterlo una volta in questa stagione e che anche oggi è stato l'avversario più coriaceo, avendolo preceduto al giro di boa.

Petrella sofferente per una caduta in allenamento aveva saltato la qualificazione ieri – vinta da Grattarola – per non affaticarsi troppo e soprattutto non rischiare cadute dovute alla velocità. Pur partendo per primo ha chiuso il primo giro a 7 punti, davanti a Grattarola 10 e Gianluca Tournour (Gas Gas) 13.

Nella seconda tornata la rimonta del campione: con un inavvicinabile giro a “5” si è portato a casa vittoria e titolo. Petrella (22) è scivolato al secondo posto davanti a Tournour (22). Quarto ma decisamente più staccato Andrea Riva (TRRS).

In TR2 titolo per Sergio Piardi (Beta) oggi al top, davanti a Manuel Copetti ( TRRS) e Luca Corvi (Gas Gas), finiti nello stesso ordine in campionato.
