26/06/23 - Stage of TATA in Cartignano CN

With two wonderful sunny days, Cartignano (CN) made up for the terrible weekend experienced last year in the rain, just as the inaugural round of the newborn ASI Trial Vintage Trophy, known as TATA.

Yesterday and the day before yesterday, along the same loop, the members of the Moto Club Dragone & Val Varaita intelligently placed ten zones perfectly suited to the requirements of this championship, this year also entitled MEMORIAL PIERANGELO BONETTI, in honor of the observer and enthusiast friend who passed away prematurely last year.

Long sections with reasonable obstacles to allow winners to compete with low scores.

The mentality that if someone cleans all whoever plotted did not do his duty properly, has been debunked. Other schools of thought, which indicate that the winner must necessarily achieve a number of points in proportion to the sections, are absolutely not valid for the world of vintage trials.

Just look abroad where the number of participants is four times higher, for now. The scores are extremely low, allowing everyone to have the opportunity to aim for zero in each area. The best one will always emerge, because his level is so high that he can ride easily and get the best score everywhere.

TATA was born to slowly bring us closer to the examples of the nations that drive this market and the policy will always be this.

Cartignano was a great party, the small village made it possible to gather all the participants in the only restaurant in the town square on Saturday evening. A large group of Frenchmen joined, to give an international touch to the race, also enriched by a rider from Andorra and a New Zealander, in Europe for a holiday.

The torrid heat of these days could be tolerated well because all the sections were in the woods and could enjoy the cool contribution of the trees. Given the almost unanimous approval of those who took part, especially the pilots from beyond the Alps, a possible next edition will have even more people.

The icing on the cake is the rapid and efficient compilation of results by the Trial referent within ASI, Roberto Cavaglià.

The president of the organizing club, Gian Marco Ghibaudo was satisfied with the work done by the members of his club and the volunteer observers, who were all rewarded with a bag full of succulent local foods.

Now the trophy will move to central Italy to Monte San Giovanni in Sabina, near Rieti for the last two races and the final prize-giving of all the championships on 23 and 24 September.

Tappa del TATA a Cartignano CN

Con due stupende giornate di sole, Cartignano (CN) si è fatta perdonare il terribile week-end vissuto l'anno scorso sotto la pioggia, proprio come prova inaugurale del neonato Trofeo ASI Trial Antico, detto TATA.

Ieri e l'altro ieri nel medesimo percorso i soci del Moto Club Dragone & Val Varaita hanno intelligentemente riposto dieci zone perfettamente consone a quanto richiesto da questo campionato, quest'anno intitolato anche MEMORIAL PIERANGELO BONETTI, in onore all'amico giudice e appassionato scomparso prematuramente l'anno passato.

Zone lunghe con ostacoli ragionevoli per permettere ai vincitori di giocarsela con bassi punteggi.

E' stata sfatata la mentalità che se qualcuno gira a zero, chi ha tracciato non ha svolto correttamente il suo dovere. Altre scuole di pensiero, che indicano che il vincitore deve per forza conseguire un numero di punti in proporzione alla zone, sono assolutamente non valide per il mondo del Trial d'epoca.

Basta guardare all'estero dove il numero di partecipanti è quattro volte superiore, per ora. I punteggi sono estremamente bassi e consentono a tutti di avere l'opportunità di mirare allo zero in ogni zona. Tanto il più bravo emergerà sempre, perchè il suo livello è così alto da guidare con semplicità e ottenere il punteggio migliore ovunque.

Il TATA è nato per avvicinarci piano piano agli esempi delle nazioni che trascinano questo mercato e la politica sarà sempre questa.

Cartignano è stata una gran festa, il piccolo villaggio ha permesso di radunare tutti i partecipanti nell'unico ristorante della piazza del paese al sabato sera. Una nutrita combriccola di francesi si è unita, a dare un tocco di internazionalità alla gara, arricchita anche da un pilota di Andorra e un neozelandese, in Europa per una vacanza.

Il caldo torrido di questi giorni si è potuto sopportare bene perchè tutte le zone erano nel bosco e potevano godere del fresco apporto degli alberi. Visti i consensi pressoché unanimi di chi vi ha partecipato, in particolare modo i piloti d'oltralpe, un'eventuale prossima edizione avrà ancora più gente.

Ciliegina sulla torta poi la rapida ed efficiente compilazione classifiche da parte del referente Trial in seno all'ASI, Roberto Cavaglià.

Il presidente del club organizzatore, Gian Marco Ghibaudo è rimasto soddisfatto del lavoro svolto dai membri del suo club e dai giudici volontari, tutti gratificati con una borsa piena di succulenti alimenti locali.

Ora il trofeo si sposterà in centro Italia al Monte San Giovanni in Sabina , vicino a Rieti per le ultime due prove e la premiazione finale di tutti i campionati il 23 e 24 settembre.
