26/09/23 - TATA 2023 concluded in Sabina

In an atmosphere of great celebration, the second year of the ASI Vintage Trial Trophy (TATA) Pierangelo Bonetti memorial ended in Monte San Giovanni in Sabina, not far from Rieti, on 23rd and 24th September.

The warm welcome from the Monte Pizzuto Trial Team which collaborated with the Moto Club Tre Valli went beyond the technical aspect of the ten sections, presented on Saturday and largely modified on Sunday. The intervention of the Old Trial Abruzzo group to offer their - now famous and much appreciated - kebabs, with cured meats and pecorino, integrated with Piedmontese toma and chocolates kindly offered by the president of the Dragone and Val Varaita motorcycle club, and by the Prosecco brought by the Venetian riders, cheered up the wait for the final awards ceremony of the championship.

Tested loop and technical climb - at times challenging - due to the rain that fell on Friday night, in which the deus-ex-machina Maurizio Aluffi managed to invent new sections to counter the terrible weather forecasts, which later turned out to be incorrect. In fact, the sun, at times on Saturday, and for the whole day on Sunday allowed an improvement in the "grip" of the precious Trial vehicles from the 70s and 80s, golden years for the specialty.

And it is precisely the rediscovery of these motorbikes that made the history of our sport and of the harmonious way of riding of that era that the TATA organizers aim to support and disseminate, also among young people, numerous in this round, as of interested and competent observers.

The propaganda work of the local motorcycle club is commendable, a work that is bearing fruit, because the numbers speak clearly. New members arrived and in general there were at least 30% more people registered for the race than last year. There were almost 60 at the start on Sunday, including a small group of modern bikes. The final awards ceremony for the first three classified in each class - 15 in total, 5 for each level - certainly attracted the attention of many pilots, who willingly came down from northern Italy, also attracted by the excellent cuisine and the spontaneous friendliness of all the professionals.

The TATA organizing committee is more than happy, having gone from 56 overall riders in 2022 to 90 in this second edition. They are therefore already talking about 2024 in which the objective is to attract even new enthusiasts, always keeping the technical level very low to allow fun and the intact preservation of the beloved mounts for all involved.

Concluso il TATA 2023 in Sabina

In un clima di grande festa si è concluso il secondo anno del Trofeo ASI Trial Antico (TATA) memorial Pierangelo Bonetti a Monte San Giovanni in Sabina, non distante da Rieti, il 23 e 24 settembre.

La calorosa accoglienza del Monte Pizzuto Trial Team che ha collaborato con il Moto Club Tre Valli è andata oltre l'aspetto tecnico delle dieci zone controllate presentate sabato e in buona parte modificate domenica. L'intervento del gruppo del Old Trial Abruzzo per offrire i loro – ormai famosi e molto apprezzati – arrosticini, con salumi e pecorino, integrati con toma piemontese e cioccolatini gentilmente offerti dal presidente del moto club Dragone e Val Varaita, e dal Prosecco portato dai piloti veneti, ha rallegrato l'attesa per la premiazione finale del campionato.

Giro collaudato e salita tecnica - a tratti impegnativa - per la pioggia scesa nella notte di venerdì, nel quale il deus-ex-machina Maurizio Aluffi è riuscito a inventarsi zone nuove per contrastare le pessime previsioni meteo , poi rivelatesi errate. Infatti il sole, a tratti sabato, e per tutta la giornata della domenica ha permesso un miglioramento della “aderenza” dei preziosi mezzi da Trial degli anni 70-80, anni d'oro per la specialità.

Ed è proprio la riscoperta di queste moto che hanno fatto la storia del nostro sport e del modo di guidare armonico di quell'epoca che gli organizzatori del TATA si prefiggono di sostenere e divulgare, anche fra i giovani, numerosi in questa tappa, in qualità di giudici interessati e competenti.

Lodevole il lavoro di propaganda del locale motoclub, un lavoro che sta dando i suoi frutti, perchè i numeri parlano chiaro. Nuovi adepti sono arrivati e in generale alla gara ci sono stati almeno un 30% di iscritti in più rispetto all'anno scorso. Si sono contati quasi 60 al via domenica, compreso uno sparuto gruppo di moto moderne. La premiazione finale per i primi tre classificati di ogni classe -15 in totale, 5 per ogni livello – ha richiamato sicuramente l'attenzione di molti piloti, scesi volentieri dal nord Italia, attirati anche dall'ottima cucina e dalla spontanea simpatia di tutti gli addetti ai lavori.

Più che soddisfatto il comitato organizzatore del TATA, che è passato dai 56 piloti complessivi del 2022 ai 90 di questa seconda edizione. Già dunque si parla del 2024 nel quale l'obiettivo è attirare ancora nuovi appassionati, tenendo sempre molto basso il livello tecnico per permettere il divertimento e la conservazione integra delle amate cavalcature a tutti i coinvolti.
