07/05/23 - Dougie Lampkin won the Scottish Six Days

The indestructible Dougie Lampkin (Vertigo) won fourteen Six Days, in this edition accompanied by his son Alfie, who finished honorably in 28th place riding a 125cc, again Vertigo.

Always leading from the first day - Thursday's ranking published, downloaded from the official website ssdt.org reports Lampkin third but it is an error, a "5" in section 19 which the observer then corrected to zero, because he admitted to be wrong – the 47-year-old Dougie continues to ride as in the years of his 12 world titles (7 outdoors and 5 indoors) with precision and an enviable concentration.

Throughout the week the young British who started very strong in the Trial2 World Championship have been blowing on his neck Billy Green (Scorpa) and Jack Peace (Sherco) who then finished second and fourth respectively. Between the two was another almost veteran, the 36-year-old Michael Brown (Gas Gas), World Junior in 2007.

And speaking of veterans, honors go to Amos Bilbao (Montesa) now 53-year-old, winner of the Scottish in 2002, as well as six-time team world champion. The Spaniard brought home an enviable 21st place.

Among 7 women participants, the usual Emma Bristow (Sherco) triumphed finishing in 35th place.

Only two Italians at the start, Chistian Valeri (TRS Track) and Alessandro Merlo (Beta 250) whose superclassica unfortunately ended already on the second day due to an out of time, conditioned by a heavy fall by Valeri and consequent arm pain for almost the whole day.

According to them - and not only - it was a tougher edition than usual, not so much in terms of sections, but as a loop due to the persistent previous rains. Both remained as viewers-videoreporters for infotrial.it and broadcast their comments live on social networks.

The fascination of this race - which we believe all trialists should try at least once in their life - remains unchanged. Nature, effort and the mental strength that pushes you not to give up are the ingredients that best describe it. There are thirty zones a day and km and km of transfer on the moor that exhaust pilots and vehicles. But the satisfaction of reaching the finish line on Saturday is really rewarding.

Dougie Lampking vince la Sei Giorni di Scozia

Sono quattordici le Sei Giorni vinte per l'inossidabile Dougie Lampkin (Vertigo) , in questa edizione accompagnato dal figlio Alfie, piazzatosi onorevolmente al 28° posto alla guida di un 125cc, ancora Vertigo.

Sempre al comando dal primo giorno – la classifica di giovedì pubblicata, scaricata dal sito ufficiale ssdt.org riporta Lampkin terzo ma si tratta di un errore, un “5” alla zona 19 che il giudice poi ha corretto in zero , perchè si era sbagliato – il 47-enne Dougie continua a guidare come negli anni dei suoi 12 titoli mondiali (7 outdoor e 5 indoor) con precisione e una concentrazione invidiabile.

Per tutta la settimana gli hanno soffiato sul collo i giovani inglesi partiti molto forte nel mondiale Trial2 Billy Green (Scorpa) e Jack Peace (Sherco) che poi sono finiti secondo e quarto rispettivamente. Tra i due si è inserito un altro quasi veterano, il 36-enne Michael Brown(Gas Gas), mondiale Junior nel 2007.

E a proposito di veterani, onore ad Amos Bilbao (Montesa) oggi 53-enne, vincitore della Scottish nel 2002, nonché sei volte mondiale a squadre. Lo spagnolo ha portato a casa un inviabile 21-esimo posto.

Prima di ben 7 donne partecipanti la solita Emma Bristow (Sherco) che ha concluso al 35-esimo posto.

Solo due italiani al via Chistian Valeri (TRS Track) a Alessandro Merlo (Beta 250) la cui superclassica è finita purtroppo già al secondo giorno per un fuori tempo massimo, condizionato da una pesante caduta di Valeri e conseguente dolore al braccio per quasi tutta la giornata.

A detta loro - e non solo - è stata un'edizione più dura del solito, non tanto come zone, ma come trasferimento per le insistenti piogge precedenti. Entrambi sono rimasti come spettatori-videoreporter per infotrial.it e hanno trasmesso in diretta sui social i loro commenti.

Il fascino di questa gara - che secondo noi, tutti i trialisti dovrebbero provare almeno una volta nella vita - rimane immutato. La natura, la fatica e la forza mentale che ti spinge a non mollare sono gli ingredienti che la descrivono meglio. Sono trenta zone al giorno e km e km di trasferimento nella brughiera che sfiniscono piloti e mezzi. Ma la soddisfazione di quando si raggiunge il traguardo al sabato è davvero appagante.
