Santa Perpètua de Mogoda (Barcelona), 02.01.2004. Laia Sanz,
current champion of the women's world trial, will this year compete
as a rider for Montesa-HRC, a structure that is welcoming into its
ranks a new reference for this motorcycling speciality at world series
level.
Born on December 11, 1985 in Corbera de Llobregat (Barcelona), Laia
Sanz is the best female rider in the history of this sport, a status
proven by the four world series titles achieved by the young Catalan
rider from the year 2000, as well as the European titles in the last
two seasons.
Laia Sanz: "I am very excited about forming part of such
a professional team and to be able to enjoy the resources that give
best possibilities for good results. From a personal point of view,
I'll do my best to continue winning among the girls and also to compete
in the major world junior series. My objectives are just to revalidate
the women's world and European championships and to get as high as
possible in the world junior series, where the guys will be my rivals".
As a Montesa-HRC rider, Laia Sanz will have teammates such as Dougie
Lampkin, Takahisa Fujinami and Marc Freixa.
